What is Infrared Light Therapy?
Infrared light is the invisible part of natural sunlight. Although it is actually light, it is experienced as soothing, warm radiant heat (and sometimes referred to as infrared heat).
It is completely safe and healthy for all living things and one can be exposed to infrared light for hours without the risk of burning. Although infrared light is a naturally occurring wavelength of the sun, it does not contain the harmful UV rays associated with unprotected sunlight. In fact, infrared is so safe, it is used in hospitals to warm newborn infants.
While in our suites, infrared light can penetrate human tissue up to 2 inches and is therapeutic because of its ability to be absorbed by our body and safely raise core body temperatures. In fact, your core body temperature increases over 3 degrees (to over 102 degrees) after each 40-minute session. This self-induced “fever” (as we call it) results in a healthy, deep, and detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where the majority of toxins reside.
Our skin is the largest organ in the human body and sweating, the body’s internal cooling system is the most natural and effective way to detoxify. In addition, infrared light therapy promotes excellent cardiovascular conditioning and weight loss. This is achieved by increasing your heart rate by 50-75% while in our suites which, in turn, burns real calories.
In the last 35 years, extensive research has been conducted by European and Japanese doctors on the therapeutic benefits of infrared radiant heat. In addition, methods to induce fevers and sweating have been used for centuries to bring improved health and relief from disease.
Infrared Heat vs. Traditional Steam Sauna
Infrared light (heat) is very gentle and soothing. The experience is similar to lying in the sun on a warm day and feeling the heat radiate to the core of your body. Unlike traditional saunas (hot rock or wet/steam) which operate in excess of 180°F, infrared saunas have the benefit of being effective at a more comfortable operating temperature of 120°-150°F.
Traditional saunas simply heat the air in the cabin (versus raising core body temperature), making the experience unbearably hot and difficult to breathe. Because infrared heat penetrates human tissue vs. simply heating the surface of the skin, infrared saunas are 7 times more effective than traditional saunas at detoxification. By raising the body’s core temperature over 3 degrees, infrared saunas can produce a sweat composed of 20% toxins vs. only 3% toxins with a traditional sauna.
Red Light Therapy
Red Light Therapy, combines powerful red light (650nm) and near-infrared (850nm) wavelengths to offer you the best therapy available today. Our Light Therapy provides the most proven and effective therapeutic wavelengths to the entire body reducing oxidative stress and stimulating the production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate).
This process, known as Photobiomodulation, has been extensively researched for many years and adds measurable energy to your cells’ mitochondria. Our Light Therapy Tower can be used during your sauna session or as a stand-alone therapy outside your sauna. Light therapy has been tested across hundreds of peer-reviewed clinical trials with positive results. The benefits of Red Light Therapy include:
Reduction of Chronic and Acute Pain
Variable Optics™ Light Therapy
Our Light Therapy is the only red light therapy unit available using Variable Optics™. Most other light therapy units have a single optical output at 30 degrees. This limits the amount of light absorbed by the human body.
The light receptors in our skin absorb the Red and Near Infrared light. With a single optic there is a single acceptance angle. With our Variable Optics™ technology we use a mix of 7 to 60 degree optics creating multiple cross acceptance angles of the light waves. This allows the light to travel better in to our cells and offer more benefit. Our Variable Optics™ technology allows you to maximize the benefits of light therapy in every session.
How Red Light And Near Infrared Therapy Works
We have been researching, developing and offering light therapy in our saunas for well over a decade.
What Is Red Light Therapy?
Red Light Therapy, also known as photobiomodulation and low level light therapy, uses red low-level wavelengths of light for a variety of health and wellness benefits.
Red light was then studied for its ability to increase energy inside human cells. The human body needs to make ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and cellular energy to function and survive. This occurs naturally when our bodies are exposed to natural sunlight. Red and near-infrared wavelengths of natural light stimulate the mitochondria in our cells. The mitochondria turn the light into usable energy for our bodies through the process of cellular respiration.
The HALO ONE® Halotherapy generator is a practical and therapeutic option for incorporating salt therapy into your wellness routine. Your HALO ONE® can be used both in our 3 Degree’ sauna while you enjoy your session.
This quiet, easy-to-operate award-winning device utilizes a liquid saline mixture of micronized salt particles which are then dispersed into the air. The HALO ONE® is the only halotherapy generator producing salt particles between 1-10 microns. We create the salt particles with our Vibrating Mesh technology. This means the salt will reach more area of your lungs than any other halotherapy on the market, helping you breathe easier.
Halotherapy, also known as Salt Therapy is a holistic approach that mimics the microclimate of a salt cave. Salt air is vaporized into micro-sized particles and dispersed into the air.
The patent-pending technology of the HALO ONE® starts with a 3% pharmaceutical-grade saline solution. The solution is vaporized and then pushed through a Vibrating Mesh to create salt particles between 1-10 microns. The micro-sized salt particles are then dispersed into the air for you to breath in.
Salt Therapy For Your Routine
Halotherapy offers the best results when practiced regularly. The benefits are cumulative, so consistency and frequency are the key.
The powerful healing properties of halotherapy are earning the attention of some of the world’s most advanced medical institutions and publications.
Many believe that when people inhale this salty air, it can help stimulate the respiratory system, reduce inflammation, fight infection, clear blockages and reduce discomfort.
Halotherapy therapy is believed to be antibacterial and anti-inflammatory and can help with excessive mucus, pathogen agents, digestive issues, depression, skin conditions, and immune system oversensitivity. With all these benefits, it is easy to see that incorporating salt therapy into your life can help improve overall wellness.
Health benefits of salt therapy include aid in treatment of the following conditions:
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
There are typically no side effects other than the taste of salt and potentially thirst or a scratchy throat. However, if someone is on any medications or suffers from any serious medical issues please seek medical advice before any therapy. Halotherapy is a natural therapy however any clients who have any serious health conditions or women who are pregnant should always seek proper medical advice before using the HALOONE®.
The salt used is 99.99% pure sodium chloride (Pharmaceutical grade salt). It contains no fillers or caking agents. It comes from a natural source and it is naturally processed to remove all of its impure elements. It is the same salt that hospitals use and is the same type of salt used in Halothearpy research.
How was salt therapy discovered? 20 million years ago Eastern Europe was partially covered by a shallow sea. With the disappearance of the sea, large amounts of layered salt were left behind. In the 14th century, people started to mine salt for their own use and for sale. Large salt mines were developed in the south of Poland near Krakow leaving huge chambers deep in the mountains. Over time, it was discovered that salt miners, as a result of working in the salt mines, had very few respiratory conditions, looked much younger than their age, and rarely got sick.
How long has salt therapy been used? In the 1840s, a Polish doctor named Feliks Boczkowski noticed something interesting while treating workers in the Wieleczka Salt Mines. Unlike other miners who routinely experienced lung problems from breathing in the pollutants in the mines, he found that patients rarely had respiratory issues. Boczkowski attributed this to the high salt content in the cave’s microclimate and he published a treatise detailing his theories in 1843. Several years later one of his pupils opened the first salt inhalation clinic in Poland.
This was not the first time people had drawn the connection between salt content in the air and improved respiratory health. Catholic monks in Europe regularly brought people with respiratory issues into salt caves and then crushed the salt with their feet to release it into the air. Salt therapy was also used in the days of ancient Greece and Rome.
healing with color
Light Therapy has been valued throughout history as a remarkable source of healing and all our saunas come equipped with it. Some of the benefits include:
Anti-aging benefits: reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, and age spots.
Energizes skin cells, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, giving skin back its youthful look.
Reported to reduce swelling, relieve pain, decrease inflammation, accelerate open wound healing, and increase circulation.
Relieve Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). SAD affects individuals when the lack of sunlight results in seasonal depression. Phototherapy helps with SAD by resetting the internal biological clock (Circadian rhythms), helping individuals sleep better and regulate their mood.

Whole Body Vibration
This service is only available in Sioux Falls.
By far the most popular new addition to the passive exercise category is whole-body vibration or WBV. An outgrowth of a program used to train Russian cosmonauts and later utilized by NASA, it quickly spread through Europe and Japan, and then hit U.S. shores.
Movements performed on a Whole Body Vibration (WBV) oscillating platform have been shown to be four times more effective than equivalent exercises performed on a stationary surface. When standing on the platform of a WBV machine, the body experiences vertical oscillating vibrations, a side-alternating rocking movement. The energy from the oscillating vibrations is safely transferred without impact, deeply stimulating the cells of the body’s muscle, bone and soft tissue. Because the amplitude and intensity of the vibration can be controlled, WBV is intended for users of all types and all fitness levels.
WBV activates an average of 97% of all muscle groups and produces up to 30 involuntary reflexes per second, all of which results in the burning of fat and the building of muscle. There is no stress on the joints, ligaments or tendons compared to other resistance training. The result is more benefit in less time.
